Clarity
Healing
Connection

Welcome

Sometimes life can feel desperately hard. The stresses and strains of the world, work, family and relationships are unrelenting at times, piling up on us, overwhelming us, and depleting us of our energy, vitality and joy. Many of us battle on for a while, surviving the best way we know how. But this can be a lonely and confusing journey to walk alone...

There may come a point when you realise your coping strategies aren't working any more. You are weighed down by the burdens of life, and can't see a way forward that allows you to live well. Perhaps this is why you are here? If so, you should know that you have already taken a hugely important and courageous step!

Holding Hands

When life feels this way, sometimes all we need is a helping hand. A companion who will be with us as we figure things out, who will support us to digest what has brought us here, and help us to learn about ourselves in the process.

Talking to a willing and curious other can help us find relief from the echo chamber of our inner thoughts and feelings - a bit like releasing an internal pressure valve.

We gain clarity about how we're thinking or feeling, and what we can do about it. We may also feel empowered, knowing someone understands what we're going through and 'has our back'.

Through this process of relationship and connection, we begin to heal. And in healing from the old hurts, we start to see a new way forward. To find an inner vitality that has been hidden from us. To live our best lives - sincerely and authentically. And to find a deep and heartfelt connection with our inner selves, our world, and the people and communities around us.

HELEN BAILEY

Counselling & Psychotherapy

Hello. My name is Helen. I'm a qualified counsellor and trainee psychotherapist based in Beeston, Nottinghamshire. I'm a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy and the UK Association for Transactional Analysis.

I work with adults aged 18+ around a wide range of issues and have particular experience in depression, bereavement, loss, anxiety and relationship problems. I'm also interested in working with people who, for whatever reason, may be struggling with their sense of identity.

I'm fascinated by the ways families, society, culture and environment influence how we think of ourselves and others, and the stories we create to make sense of our identities, experiences and relationships.
